Gulfport Little League
Gulfport Florida
Manager - Roster Notes

- Here is a PDF with a Roster form http://gulfportlittleleague.net/forms/roster.pdf
- Each player needs their number on the roster. The other
team and umpire do not know them by name.
- Provide a copy of the roster to the plate umpire and the
opposing team (and the official score-keeper if there is
one)
- The batting order does NOT change. A sub takes the
position in the batting order of the player they are
replacing.
- Each sub MUST complete minimum play before they can be
removed from the line-up.
- Starters may be replaced before completing minimum play
but must fulfill minimum play before the end of the game.
- Batting through the line-up
- This is sometimes used in Minors so that players
"on the bench" get more playing time and
feel more "part of the game"
- This must be agreed upon before the game, during the
meeting at the plate with the umpire
- This does count toward minimum play (one "at
bat")
- When a player leaves the dugout to bat, the NEXT batter
(with a helmet on) should run out and retrieve any bat
left from the previous play
- Changing player positions on the field is NOT considered
a substitution (except for pitching changes)
- Other notes
- Players may leave the field (with the umpire's
permission) to go to the restroom. NOT to the
concession stand or elsewhere.
- Managers and coaches may NOT leave the field. The
saying is "You can leave any time you want,
just don't come back".
- After the game make sure the dugout is clean and
trash cans emptied. We hope you found it clean
when you arrived.
- After the game rake the pitchers mound. The
fields are watered during the night and the mound
needs to be properly formed.
